Both companies are linked to WAPDA (Pakistan Water and Power Development Authority) in charge of surveying, planning and execution of water and energy utility systems in Pakistan. This project has transformers by SIEMENS Brazil equipped with Treetech Intelligent Electronic Sensors (IEDs).

The equipment was assembled in the city of Karachi, capital of the Sindh province, the largest, most important and heavily populated in Pakistan, with approximately 15 million inhabitants. Located on the coast of the Sea of Araby, site of the region’s most important port.

Due to its economic importance, both companies are investing in the region and already have several projects under study for expansion of the electricity system. In this project, the company KESC received two 600 MVA banks, which will part of the city of Karachi’s and neighboring region’s energy mains.

Use of Intelligent Electronic Sensors for on-line monitoring purposes was not common in these companies, but similar to what has been happening in other parts of the world, energy utility services are looking to modernize their systems with a view to achieving gains in reliability in their services.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/3″][vc_single_image image=”5740″ alignment=”none”][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column]

[vc_column_text]Each transformer is equipped with TM1 and TM2 Temperature Monitors for monitoring of oil and winding temperature.
